Cruising is…

Open up the YouTube app on your phone and search for the biggest sailing channels - Delos, La Vagabonde, Expedition Evans, Sailing Doodles. What do you see at first glance? For the most part, all of the successful YouTube sailing channels sell the glamor of the lifestyle. Beautiful people in beautiful locations doing beautiful things.

While there’s a lot of truth to that - and we also like to highlight the highs of this life - the full truth is that many days and weeks living on your boat is boring at best and frustrating at worst.

The salty, powerful ocean is literally trying to eat your boat 24/7. Things break. And it’s up to you to fix them.

You also need food and the only way to get it is to push through miles of big, choppy water in your dinghy to get to land. Where, oh yeah, you have to walk several more miles to the closest store.

The cruising life has high highs and low lows.

This week is one of those low and boring weeks. It has a bit of everything: grocery shopping, boat repairs, and rolly anchorages.

Thank you for watching, and I hope this video give a bit more well-rounded view of what it is we actually do.

Much love,

Kirstin & Andy
