Exploring Eleuthera with Friends

The cruising lifestyle exposes you to many beautiful things - deep, pure, blue water; awe-inspiring cliffs; different cultures; untold adventures. It really is wonderful to experience the beauty of this world. The adventures turn into memories that will last a lifetime.

But, the sum of all the beauty in the natural world falls short of the beauty found in relationships. People are made to be in community, to know others and be known.

And for all of the wonderful adventures a life on the sea can bring, it can also test those relationships. It tests them both through close proximity (between the people who live full-time on the boat) and through distance. Thankfully, in this modern world, the physical distance between people in community is reduced. Through the magic of Starlink, we are able to call, text, and even have video calls with basically anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Yet, as wonderful as those digital connections are, being together in person is something that cannot be replaced.

And when our life on the sea gets to intersect with our deep friendships, well, that is a special time.

This is one of those weeks.

Kirstin and Emily have been friends through everything this crazy world has conjured for the better part of 25 years, and it is a gift to the whole crew of Magic Dragon when Emily and Kirstin are reunited.

So, let’s enjoy the time together with friends as we continue to explore the beautiful island of Eleuthera.
